The Teen Space & Teen Lounge are located on the 2nd Floor of the Main Branch of ACFPL @ 1 N. Tennessee Avenue. Call youth services at (609) 345-2269 x3050.
The Teen Space
The Teen Space offers six computers (two Macs and four PCs) that teens can reserve for 60 minutes per day, or longer if working on homework and resumes. All you need is a library card in good standing. Teens can print in black and white for $0.10 per page or in color for $0.25 per page. We also have fiction and nonfiction books, magazines, DVDs, and manga and graphic novels to use here in the library or check out and take home. Looking for a job or preparing for college? We have resources for that, too. All of this comes with comfortable seating and study spaces for both quiet work and hanging out with friends.
The Teen Lounge
The Teen Lounge is an exclusive members-only area. Teens in this area get 90 minutes on the four Macintosh computers reserved for lounge members, have a more private space for socializing and study, and have access to our six gaming systems: Xbox One with Kinect, Playstation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 with Kinect, Nintendo Wii, and Playstation 3 as well as many board and card games. To become a lounge member, teens need a library card in good standing and must fill out an application at the Youth Services Desk.
In April of 2014, we added a brand new Makerspace to our teen lounge. It contains technology of all sorts, from knitting needles to photography equipment to 3D printers. The makerspace is a hands-on environment where ACFPL teens can learn new skills, be creative, develop products and business ideas, and MAKE things! The makerspace has its own website: make.acfpl.org. Check it out for the full list of available equipment, pictures of things people have made, and more.
Teen Advisory Group
The Teen Advisory Group is our volunteer group that meets monthly to talk about ways to make your library a fun place to go. Help choose teen programs, pick which books we buy, and volunteer to help at the library and in your community. We have pizza and soda at the meetings! Find more information about volunteering here.
Not a member of TAG yet? Come to the Youth Services desk to pick up an application.
