Class Visits

I am happy to either come to your classroom or host your class here at the library. If you are interested in booking a visit, you can call, e-mail, or fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

The following can be done either at the library or in your classroom:

  • How to access online library resources such as test prep services, tutor.com, databases, eBooks, job & career accelerator, and more (requires internet connection)
  • Searching for and applying to colleges and scholarships (requires internet connection)
  • How to sign up for a library card
  • How to do research both in the library and online (evaluating sources, search tactics, etc.) (requires internet connection)
  • A virtual tour of our facilities and services (makerspace, teen lounge, teen materials collection, etc.)
  • Book talks and recommendations

The following are available only with in-library visits:

  • Tour of library facilities, including our members-only teen lounge, our new teen makerspace, and the super secret hidden technical services department that receives, processes, and catalogs all library materials.
  • Introduction to makerspace equipment, policies, and project ideas. See make.acfpl.org for more information.
  • Library scavenger hunts that build library navigation and information seeking skills.
  • Computer reservations and open computer time
  • Individualized recommendations for books and other materials, plus time to browse the collection
  • Access to our print reference collection
