Celebrate National Library Week April 23-29

nlw23 social english 2 facebook shareThe Atlantic City Free Public Library encourages all community members to visit the library during National Library Week, April 23-29, to explore all it has to offer.

Most people know about the wealth of stories available at the library, from picture books and large print to audiobooks and ebooks. But there's so much more to the story of libraries.

Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through book clubs, storytimes, movie nights, crafting classes, lectures, and more. The Atlantic City Free Public Library offers a wide array of programs, classes and resources.

And libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for job seekers, small businesses and entrepreneurs. The Atlantic City Free Public Library supports the community with services such as the Building Employment Skills Training (BEST) Program, walk-in computer and job skills labs, English as a Second Language, computer classes and more.

One day before the official start of National Library Week, library staff will be participating in Stockton University’s Second annual Community Day Clean Up and Party in the Park on Saturday, April 22. That day, the library will unveil its first “Library to Go: Little Free Library” at O’Donnell Park.

If you haven't checked out the library lately, you're missing the full story. Stop by for a visit to celebrate during National Library Week. Follow the library on social media and use the hashtag #National Library Week to join the online celebration. For more information about the Atlantic City Library, visit www.acfpl.org.
